When I got my 400ex, the previous owner had taken the baffle out, does this mean I have no arrestor or is the spark arrestor not part of the baffle? Need to know this before I go ride on public land. Thanks!

 

My guess is you do not have it anymore.

 

The baffle is for sound and spark arresting, so if you see nothing but a hole in the exit of your muffler, you probably have no arrestor. You can buy an aftermarket tip with a screen in it that will be legal, they just look for a screen if they do an ispection, most just jam a plastic rod in there to make sure your muffler isnt "gutted".
