400EX full pipe shootout FINALLY!!!
#11
That was a good article in Dirtwheels, but it only covered slip-ons. Interestingly, the WB slip-on and their full pipe ranked relatively the same in both articles (second highest peak hp but noticably quieter than most of the rest). I have the e-series slip-on now but wish I had the full pipe to go with my latest mods.

I just read the issue with the pipe shootout. The stock HP was 25.9 and the best full systems couldn't even get it to 28 HP. I think i may go back to the stock pipe since the noise is a big issue in my area and spending 400-500 bucks on a full system just doesn't seem worth it when they barely give the 400ex 2 HP. WB claims a 4-7 HP gain from the Pro-meg system, i just dont see that when the 440's are in the mid 30HP range.

It's not the peak h.p. that any of the pipes make none of them make more than about 2-4 h.p. but go back and look at the graphes look at the power in the midrange then you 'll probably see more like 7-9 but on a machine like the 400ex thats noticeable ask some of the guys who have them I had one on my 400ex but they are so much louder than stock that you probably won't like it they sound good but you could **** off people around you where you ride then lose the place you ride then what do have a fast four wheeler that sits still in the garage. the quietone would be the white bros you probably dont need the head pipe if your not planning on boring it or adding a piston.
