I have not heard anything about that but I'm interested in buying another quad for my daughter and had settled on a 350 rancher. Is this a mistake?

Overall, the ES is good, but do read what the manual has to say about how it works. That way you won't have any surprises.

I have never had a problem either, and absolutely love the ES. Whoever makes up this "ES problem" must not own one.

ES is great! It will on ocasion get "stuck" gently rock it back and forth and it will shift. The only reason I see not to get one is if you race and fractions of seconds count. I won't go back.

I've had my rancher 4X4 ES for two months now and not a problem detected.
