Default Got the 07 Rancher shifting, now clutch help!

Well after many hours of tinkering, and replacing the angle sensor, my Rancher still would not shift. Honda suggested adjusting the clutch, I screwed it out a few rounds, in a few rounds, nothing. Took the shift motor off and cleaned brushed and rotor, now shifts like new!! but now my clutch is severely out of adjustment, I tried adjusting like the manual says to no avail. It will not roll for anything. It will shift great, unless I get it too tight then wont shift at all. Loosen it up and shifts fine, but will not go. Where am I going wrong. Counterclockwise until tension, back out quarter turn, tighten nut, done it 30 times, 4 wheeler will not go anywhere!! Jeez

I wonder if something dropped out of place when you screwed it in & out, maybe too far? I did that once with an old 200SX I had. I ended up removing the cover and putting things back in place. But if you're going to try that, make sure you have a manual with an exploded view of the parts. There aren't a lot of parts that are going to need put in place, but they have to be right.

I think you may be on to something, it is like the adusting screw has no effect at all on the clutch system. I have never taken the case off covering the clutch assembly, but I guess there is a first time for everything. I will look for an online exploded view of the inside, so when I get there I will no if anything is out of place.
