Question 350EX dangling fuel line ???

Recently got my Rancher 350EX back up and running. Slow start, but otherwise fine. After a few hours of running, I parked and noticed a puddle. Quickly found the line coming from the bottom of the carb detached and dripping fuel. I went to check my neighbors 350 and noticed his was hanging unconnected as well, but I'm not sure this is normal since I've never noticed this before and never seen any kind of "overflow relief" or anything like that on an engine ?? To clarify, this is the line that appears to contain some kind of check valve in the middle coming from dead center of the bottom of the carb. I can't find any diagrams online that might show where this came from or where it should reconnect. TIA
