Need help with parking brake block off
#1
I bought a Lonestar parking brake block off from Dennis Kirk and put it on my 350x, but I lost rear brakes at the same time. the stock thing I took off had a o ring and this new thing doesn't. Do I need to make a gasket or what? Please help

Chances are you lost some fluid when you did that. Take it back off and use some liquid gasket or it might not need it.Check the brake fluid and make sure there's enough. Then bleed the brakes. That should make them work.

Yep, I did that, I put it on, and noticed the brakes didn't work so I filled the resivour with fluid and pumped the peddle. It just leeked out, I'd really like to find someone that has one installed on their 250r or something and see if they had some fluid leek too.

I have White Bros. block offs on both my R's. I just took the old stuff off, put the new plate on with a little thread-lock on the bolts. No leaks or any problems. You could put the "O" ring in the space provided in the block off. If you use gasket sealer, use very little.
Try bleeding your brake. Pump them up, crack open the valve on the caliper while you push slowly down on the brake peddle. When you have the peddle all the way down, close the valve. Don't let the peddle back up with the valve open or you will suck air into your line. Do this several times until you get all the air out. Keep the reservoir topped off. This should fix your problem.

The block off really didn't have a spot for the o ring. When I put it on I did bleed the brakes and as soon as it built up pressure it leeked out of the block off. ON a different forum they said there might be a inner o ring that is bad.
I guess I will have to check that
