Need new tires on 1986 honda fourtrax 250
The stock tires are 21x7x10 front
and 25x12x9 in back.
I'm willing to go a few inches higher in the front and a inch wider but the same in the back.
I ride: 50% trail 25% hard pack 15%Mud
And also a little water and sand but that doesn't matter.
Thank you for future references.

Since you only dealing with a 250 try to keep the weight down. Here is a good site with tire specs like weight.lug height and ply count. ATV Mud Tires : Best ATV Tires : GBC Maxxis ITP
larger Dia. tires on the front would allow the rears to push the fronts over rough ground and obstacles easier and give you more ground clearance. Go to 24" fronts at least.
12" wide are super wide for any ATV let alone a 250,going to normal 10" or 11" will lose some weight on the rears.
You may have a limited choice since tires catter to 12" rims the most vs 9" and 10" rims.
Since a 250 is not a heavy ATV you should not count out 2 ply tires plus 2 plys are lighter.

Home - Discount Tire Direct
Click on ATV/UTV tires and you can take your pick. Prices are good and free shipping. Amazon is also good. Don't know about changing your sizes. I wouldn't, but it's not my ride. I have GBC's on my front and really like them.

Look at the mazzis Zilla. There the lightest 6ply tires made. I when to 26" on my 350.
There 26"x11 and 26x9 are as light or lighter then most 25"x10 and 25x8 tires in other brands and with a agressive 1.18" tall lug.
They make a 25x11-10 with a 0.75" lug that weighs only 19.4 lbs Maxxis Zilla
A Drit Devil 22x11-10 with only a 0.62 lug weighs more.http://www.mud-throwers.com/inc/sdetail/6596/225
