I'm sure the difference is thickness... but will I notice any difference in handling- which is better? Will the 6 ply last longer? Is there a weight difference?

thanks

The 6 ply are more resistant to punctures, but they also have a rougher ride. As far as weight is concerned, most of the six ply tires are a bit heavier, however I have heard that the new Titan 589's are a six ply tire with a four ply weight. I will let you know when I install them.

Actually the weight difference isn't much at all..

A Pair of Holeshots XC's (4ply)(fronts) weight 34lbs. A pair XCT (6ply)(front) weight 36lbs...
