I got a new 450S the other day! I cant wait to get out and ride it. After riding my friends ES I think I will be happy with this machine. Has anyone tried to see if there is a way to make the pod show what gear you are in like the ES pod?

I dont believe you can do that. However, why the hell do you need a little light telling you what gear you are in?? After riding the 450s (which is definatly one of the best four wheelers ever) for a day or so, you should automatically know what gear you are in. Knowing your gears is part of RIDING! Remember, riding quads is a sport and activity, not a television show.

No can do on the gear indicator thingy ( unless you were REALLY feeling brave and wanted a professional to drill a hole in your case to have rod connect to your shift drum internally then link to an analog indicator via cable. )

However I'm all for indicators for all vehicles, a tach, thermocouple for ehaust(<-not real important for non turboed vehicles though), speedo, hours, oil pressure, water and oil temps, volts and amps+/-, and odometer would all be good. As it stands most of these are left to the operator to wing it right now. A red light tach would be more useful than a speedo for many folks. I think a great deal of BS is created from lack of good instrumentation, ( from the 80 MPH quad to the 15,000 miles but OPPS no bloody odometer to he's guessing at thirty MPH times what the hourmeter says- Anyone that has an hourmeter and true odometer knows what I mean. )
