Polaris seats are much more comfortable
#1
I rode a SP500 this last weekend and I have to admit that the ride is WAY better then on the Rubicon. Their seats are way more soft then the Rubicon. I didnt like the way the machine felt though. Felt like it was going to fall apart on me. I think the Rubicon is tighter(if that makes any sense). The way the rubi is laid out is much better. But I do wish I could get me one of those soft seats for my machine. Does anyone sell aftermarket seats for the rubicon? And yes I know its not only the seat that makes it more comfortable its the suspension. The SP500 seat says, "Ride me all day" The honda seat says "I'm going to beat your a$$"

The Sportsman is very comfortable. after owning one for a year and 1800 miles there is no way I could drive anything else. I disagree about the tighht feeling, unless you were driving an older one with allot of hard use I find the tightness feel as good as any Honda I have owned or rode. I guess though the bad thing about the IRS and its complicated system it has allot more moving parts to wear out than a traditional swingarm machine. i am not sure about an aftermarket company. but I bet you could get the seat redone to make it more Polaris comfortable. I go out riding all day 6 -10 hours and everyone wants to go home they are tired I feel as good as i did when i left , the Sportsman doesn't allow you to get beat up nearly as much as other machines. I could only ride my Honda 300 4x4 a couple hours and I was ready to go home. comfort to me is in my top 3 list of needs of an ATV.

Polaris are very comfortable machines, but i find them to be pigs when navagating through tight woods. I've recently ridden a trailblazer.. it was very comfortable but i found it very hard to control due to the lag when you pin the throttle and the steering effort when compared to my 300ex.
I really wouldn't mind owning a auto tranny machine like the sp500 in the winter when we have 2+ feet of snow. I usually end up saoked on my 300ex because i find that the seat sends the water towards your @$$ and leaves you cold and soaked.

Yeah, auto tranny lag sucks.
That's why mine's a 2-stroke... You punch the throttle, and those rear tires are spinning.
As for the seats. I've only been on a Foreman ES and a Rancher ES, but I'd have to agree with everyone, and say that my Xplorer's seat is a good deal more comfortable. I find that the squishy-ness keeps my upper thighs from tensing up (a.k.a., bleacher-butt), which is what seems to happen with harder seats.

Boots,
Agree totally on the seat size and comfort. Muddy4life even had some extra foam added to his and reports and even better seat.
Campy,
"Yeah, auto tranny lag sucks."
"That's why mine's a 2-stroke... You punch the throttle, and those rear tires are spinning."
These two statements of yours have no relation to each other at all.
First off, the auto tranny has no perceivable lag if it is setup properly. Punch the throttle and the tires will be spinning, 4 stroke or 2 stroke.
Your second statement about "that's why I have a 2 stroke ..." What the heck has this got to do with lag in an auto-tranny??? Absolutely nothing.
