Won't Start or even Fire 97 Honda Fourtrax 300

Last time I used the ATV it was running fine and I parked it in its spot and just as we pulled in it quit. I didn't think anything of it as it was not warmed up properly. I just slipped it into neutral and shut it off. Next time I went to use it, it turned over great and seemed to be getting gas but for the first time in almost 20 years it would not fire. There doesn't appear to be any spark and I have no idea what the problem is. Something in the ignition system or maybe even the kill switch, but there are no loose connections on that switch that I can find. Any ideas folks?

Honda recommend that you try another spark plug, then another coil. After that it is down to testing the wires to the CDI, and that is best done using the workshop manual, as Honda changed CDIs several times during the 300s life. If you have a fan, it is the same CDI as the 350, which is no longer available, but Honda can supply a different CDI with a small wiring loom to convert it.

It might need a new coil wire. A friend of mine had the same model and that's what it needed. I found an aftermarket one on Amazon for about 15 bucks and it was good to go. The oem part was a lot more expensive but this one worked just fine. In fact here is the one I bought, I wasn't sure if I would be able to go back that far but this might help https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It looks like it is still available. One of those reviews is me by the way.
