Default Shifting problem! trx500fa

New computer from Honda, new electric shift motor, new angle sensor installed with preload. Run check for codes and there are none, reset process and can hear motor go thru functions and n will appear on dash when completed. Even after first running for a couple minutes before resetting system there still is no electric shift or codes. Check brake switches and cleaned all connections. If anyone can help me I sure would appreciate the help.

Hello, are you talking about holding both shift buttons and then turn on key and release them both, then up, down, up with the shift buttons then throttle open and closed and open at the same time as the shift buttons within 10 seconds. Then you can hear the angle sensor having the shift motor set it self. Yes and there is no codes and I have unplugged and cleaned all connections and put dielectric grease.

While I have no solution for your problem, I can say you are not alone. I have a few friends having electric shift problems with their machines but they are still under warranty so the dealer is doing all their service but they are concerned about after the warranty expires.

Hello and thank you for writing, the next thing I'm going to do is take it back apart and check each wire one at a time and make sure there is not a break in the wire harness.

I think you will need a workshop manual to do anything with the electronics on a 500 auto. You have already spent a lot if you got a new computer, shift motor etc, probably would have cost less to let a dealer do it, as they would have put the new parts back on the shelf if it didn't fix the problem, and they know all the common faults in a system and check them first. I see you have also started another post for this same problem, don't do it, it just confuses everyone.
