Ive read posts on a bunch of different boards about the 300 4x4 and many of them have said that its not really fast for a 300 but i think they are wrong. My '93 300 4x4 is kinda slow but that motor has raked up the miles. And my '00 300 4x4 runs about 54-56. I dont get where they are comin from.

The 300 will do about 80kph, downhill, and not much more, which I think is almost 50mph.
Don't worry about it, it's not meant to be a fast quad, nobody thinks it's fast, and if you don't challange people to a race you won't have anything to prove.

Keep in Mind that fast is a relative term. Against built drag banshees your bike is a Turtle. I wouldn't worry about it because its not supposed to be a speedster, It is supposed to be a great utility bike, which it is. Arguably the most reliable bike of all time.

MY 1994 300 4x4 would do 45 if it was lucky, my Sportsman 500 will not do more the 57-60ish and I can easily go by a 300 4x4. you are not getting 55 out if it, not stock anyway.

4x4's were not meant to be drag racers.
A person should be more concerned about a 4x4's ability to climb hills, go through muck, tow stuff.

I can get 55 mph because i have a K & N air filter and a pipe which gives me a few extra horsepower to work with.

A pipe and filter doesn't make emough diffrence for you to go 10 mph faster than stock. ...But for the price of pipes these dayd you think they should.
