Do your self a favor and stick with a stock or slightly modified 400ex..let me tell you why i got a white bros 440 drove for while then bamm there goes the rod out of the case...so fine i get new cases and a hot rod "rod" with a 465 and other stuff what happens next i bend valves mess up cam chain ... so if you wanna drag race buy a banshee ... to me a 400ex is a ok quad i would take RAZOR13'S banshee any day of the week but i did all this work just to take my 400ex to the limits...If you want to go ahead ...

I am sorry to hear your bad luck. That 465 sounds like it would rip. Do you think it has anything to do with stroking?

I've had my 440 for about 4 months with no problems and I drag it all the time. Not to brag but I was the top eliminator 2 weeks ago in 300' sand for the first time.

Could it be the company that you bought the kits from. I have been thinking about the Curtis Sparks 440, 465 or the 505 kit. Sparks Racing has been known for their reliability so thats why I would use the instaed of a company like Four Stroke Tech. If FST did it for you that might be the problem. Just curious where you got the kit?

I dont know about the 465 but they ran the baja 2000 this year and the 440 kit hondas I dont think even broke down once. The raptor and the DS's broke down. If they can go almost 2000 miles ***** out I would say they are pretty reliable. I guess it lasts as long as how good the guy's skills that put it on. Just my .02

I think it would have been a different story with a Sparks engine. Its all in the quality of the parts and the knowledge of the builder. And in my opinion Sparks has the best of both. But he is also one of the most expensive. But i guess its worth the extra cash if you don't have to face problems like you had.(not a bash)

Did you stroke the 440? Is the 465 stroked? Who stroked it? How many degrees did you stroke it? Damn dude, experimental motors don't always work. Back to the drawing board.
