Default 2008 rancher 420. Completely gone through, won't start

Ive just bought a 08 rancher off the lady down the road...her husband bought it new then got put in assisted living. The oil was 10 years old. And the gas 6 lol. It was completely black, turned to varnish. I drained the tank, and blew out the pump/filter. It sat so long that the butterfly in the throttle body was completely froze shut. I had a shop complety disassemble the throttle body and free it up. I put it on. Take the the air hose to the breather tube on the gas cap to pressurise the tank until fuel comes out the line where it attaches to the throttle body. I snap the fuel line back into place and hook everything back up....and nothing!! I've replaced the spark plug and used my inspection cam and when looking into the motor while turning over everything seems to be moving freely... Tomorrow i think I'm gonna check the injector and iacv. Is there anything else anyone would recommend.? I'm running out of ideas

Forget pressurising the system with an air line, the electric fuel pump in that canister below the tank has to pressurise the fuel to about 40psi or, it won't spray out of the injector properly. Check the pump is working before going any further. There is a weird carb style slider piston in the throttle body, that is operated by a screw, driven by a little servo motor, this should buzz for a few seconds when you switch ignition on, as should the fuel pump, is this working?

Right, but is the pump pressurising the fuel? Best way to check is with a tester, but have you at least checked fuel gushes out of the pipe that fits onto the injector when you switch ignition on? The injector may need a clean if the rest of the system did, there are specialist companies that do this. Have you checked there is a spark at the plug?

Default New problem.

It was the fuel pump. It runs now but it idles too high. I ran it for an hour or so and it's still idling too high. It takes off on you when you put it in gear if you can even get it into gear because idle so high. I've checked the idle air control valve it moves freely and I've cleaned the sensor in the air box. The throttle cable is completely loose I even screwed down the set screw in the throttle chamber and it did nothing. Any ideas?

It is possible those who freed off the throttle butterfly didn't get it right. An air leak between throttle body and engine can cause this, as can that strange servo motor operated slide. Like a carb slide, it has a groove down one side, so the slide will only go in one way, check this, though I wouldn't have thought the thing would buzz if it wasn't in right. If the throttle position sensor has been removed from the throttle body, you are supposed to do a "reset procedure". This is quite complex so it may be best to get the dealer who did the throttle body, to reset it now it is back on the bike.

Default It was removed

I took the throttle body into the shop to have it freed not the entire quad. He did take the throttle position sensor off of it not sure if he reset it I stood there while he freed it up I didn't notice anything too complex so maybe he didn't reset it is it that hard to reset do you need a computer or something or is it something I could do in the shop really would suck to save all this money by doing everything myself just to have to take it in anyways

If it quickly jab the throttle is will idle down for a spit second before reving back up. Sometimes it will stay idled down. It will stay idled down as long as you let it sit up to an hour or so or as long as you want. But as soon as you touch the throttle it'll rev back up and idle high again

That does sound like the butterfly still sticking a bit. If you can manage, take it for a good long ride, the action of continual throttle changes may free things up. The reset procedure involves shorting out the temp sensor wires and the diagnostic plug, so can only be done once the throttle body is on the machine.
