Got a 2012 rubicon 500 It’ll drive for a couple miles and stall Let it sit a moment and start it up and go again Tried opening the gas tank to see if its creating a vaccine if the cap is clogged that wasn’t it Last time it happened the temp light came on anyone have an idea.

 

The fault can have meany causes. First thing remove spark plug, if plug is black and sooty you may have a sticking choke or dirty air filter. Fit a new plug and check both choke mechanism and filter if this is the case. If the plug is rather clean and white at the nose you may have a blockage in the fuel tap, take the pipe off the carb, turn the tap on and see if you get a full flow of fuel from it. Other possibilities are partly blocked carb or an ignition component breaking down when hot, plug, coil, trigger coil, ECU etc. ECUs will be expensive so eliminate all else before assuming it is that. The ignition system is quite complex on the Rubicon with a throttle position sensor, so an intermittent fault may prove very difficult to trace.
