Default Atc 200s

I've never rebuilt a atc engine, but before winter I would like to pull my 1986 honda 200s motor and rebuild it over the winter. I'm not working w tons of cash, that's why I want to do it myself, I am very mechanically inclined...how hard will this be?

What exactly does it need? If it has lost compression and/or smokes, then a top end rebuild is all you need, can be done in the frame and won't cost a fortune. Just remove head, cylinder and piston, measure everything and renew what isn't in spec, may only need rings and a gasket set. If it needs the bottom end splitting, it gets a lot harder,
