Default 1987 200x locking up...

I recently purchase a 87 200x that was restored. After riding it for 20 mins the rear locked up. I let it sit for an hour or less. It freed up and then the same thing happened the next day. The engine starts on one kick and runs fine , blows NO smoke. Is it possible the rear carrier bearings were not re-done, they could be dry , heat up and expand, causing the lockup?...then when cools off, they contract, and release?

Don't know the X model, but I assume you can start it in neutral when "locked" and it refuses to move. If so, check if it moves at all when pushed/pulled. If it is chain drive, and the rear end is locked there won't be any movement in the chain, if it is gearbox locked, the bike will move until the slack in the chain is taken up. Usually, seized rear ends are due to the brake locking, bearings tend to get slacker with age. However if someone left a spacer out when rebuilding the back end, this could be the result.
