I own a 96` honda 300 2WD and i was wondering what tires would be the best for mostly creek riding but some highway and dirtroad riding. Would Maxxis AllTrack be good? What is the difference in 2ply or 6ply.

Ply's are layers. The more ply's the thicker, heavyer, & more punture resistant the tire.

Having more ply's doesn't always mean that the tire is stronger or more puncture resistant than one with less ply's. A lot has to do with the thickness of the ply's and the quality of the material. I'm not saying a 2 ply is stronger than a 6 ply. But a high quality name brand 4 ply can far exceed the a cheaply made 6 ply tire in puncture resistance and tire wear.

I'm unfamiliar with what size tires come on your 96 Honda 300 2wd. Or if you want to go with something a little bigger to give you some more clearance. But for a suggestion on some tires for creek riding and trail use. Why don't you take a look at the Titan 589 or the Goodyear Mudrunners. Both are well constructed tires with a deep self-cleaning lugs. But still will give you a smooth ride on the trail.
