Default 2013 rancher 420es shift problem

Rancher 420 es shifts while sitting still up and down but once u get to a certain rpm or speed over 2 miles an hour it wont shift. Have replaced angle sensor, shift motor, battery and solenoid. The neutral light always stays on also no matter what gear u are in. Any help is appreciated.

I would guess that is your problem, the gearchange switch unit has told the computer that the gearchange hasn't happened, even though the angle sensor says it has, so it will go into fault mode. Looks like you need a new switch, which is inside the rear engine cover. If the gear number indicator starts to flash Morse code, this can be read to tell what is at fault, i,e, 2 long then a pause and 3 short, repeated, would be code 23.

Default Speed sensor

If I unplug the speed sensor it will shift a lot better up and will shift down with no problem.

That should totally baffle the ES computer. I'm surprised it works at all. The speed sensor wires are prone to rodent damage and the last rodent damaged ES we had refused to change gear properly with a non working speed sensor.

Default Speed sensor

I also replaced the sub wire harness that connects to the angle sensor and speed sensor. I'm so baffled on this I've about pulled all my hair out. I guess I'm going to have to break down and take it to a shop.
