the way i see it is.. im all for big engine quads and dirt bikes as long as you can use everything that dman thing has got in it, when you ride.. and riding the road doesnt count..but i do think they should do more like the cannondale, make a smaller engine have way more horsepower than those biggies.. whatever, let people get what they want to get! Just remember, money cant buy talent!~!

No offense, but bashing other peoples rides by calling them wimpy doesn't make you any better then the guy who started this all.

Some people love big power quads, while others like to cruise around or go mudding. It's all up to personal opinion.
I think it's cool that they make/sell quads like that because it keeps the sport going.

I also have to say that alot (i didnt say all, so dont start flaming) of the guys who buy big quads like 660r's and ds650's are posers. They buy them because they can't keep up with their friends who own "wimpy" 300ex's. They have to buy a huge, super powerful quad to keep up.

I just wanted to add something else...

Why is everyone bashing everyone else's quads? Who the HELLL cares what the other guy owns as long as we all keep this sport going.
Anyone who bashes somebody else's ride is jealous because no matter how big or fast of a quad they buy they can't have as much fun as the true lovers of this sport do.

i sorta see what your saying. But you have to understand that some people push their quads/bikes to the extreme.

Example, i use to have a quadsport 250. But a lot of places i went riding i could NOT go everywhere because i didn't have enough power to make it up some hills. The motor would bog out. Now I have a 400ex and I can make it up those hills, but am still limited because of power. If i had a raptor (with extended swingarm) I could climb even longer, steeper hills. So in this case the bigger the motor the better. Unless you like to almost reach the top of a hill to have your motor completely bog and downshifting doesn't help anything but the front end to come over or spin the tires. Real hill climbers know what i am talking about.

But if you idea of riding is just hitting some trails and cruising around,,,a small engine, good frame and suspension quad will do you fine.

Who cares who rides the biggest and best quad. I have as much fun four wheeling around our local riding area as the next guy on the Raptor, the other guy on the 400 EX, and the guy next to him on the DS650. Sure my Recon can't go nearly as fast as the others do. But at the end of the day, I have more fun than they do because it is always like the new big bore kit they just installed messed up something in their motor or their brand new $500 dollar pipe system didn't do as good as they hoped. Or maybe for as much money as they put into their quad they didn't win that drag race that they bet on. At the end of the day they are loading it up on their trailers cursing and kicking their quad setting a bad example for the little kids on their Fourtrax 90s while me and my friends are struggling to lift my Recon into the bed of my truck and we are still having fun. I drive home with a smile and spend next to nothing while their $10,000 quad just pisses them off more. This is the way I like this sport and many others may not agree with it but it is the way I feel.

There's no replacement for displacement More seriously I don't care if a bike has 80cc's or 1000 if it makes me fly by the seat of my pants and turns my knuckles white and makes me grin a mile wide it's a good bike. I agree though even look at the superbikes you can have one hell of a bike for 600cc's why cant they keep it down on quads as well.

Differnt strokes for differnt folks... and my 500CC rubicon cant break 15MPH in 3 feet of wet snow up a hill, so the 650 kawi would be nice, I have also lugged a CR500R up a 2 mile long dessart hill that was over 80% strait up where my XR250R lugged in 3rd

300EX why are you so bent out of shape over people owning large CC atvs? Who cares? Ride a Grizzly or a Polaris 500 or a Rubicon sometime-maybe you'll like it. Not everyone wants to putt around the woods on a dinky little quad. My dad pulls a little cart all the time with my Kodiak-he had it loaded with 10 bags(800lbs) of cement and said it never even worked hard. Then I can take it through mud over the tires and still do 55mph on a strightaway! And that's just a 401cc! Point is that with a big motor you don't have to worry-the power is there when you need it!

Yea ha!!!

That was wild! The mud was flying and I think some people got sand in their eyes too. Hose everbody down and hop back in the sand box and relax. Next time walk 10 paces turn and shoot.
I get a kick out of some of the stuff in these forums. My son has a 01 300EX-stock (that's why I dropped in) and I pk'd up a used 98 Mojave(tire mod and exhaust) we have fun together riding as well as with friends and relatives. He brags he can beat me but its gone both ways depending what were attempting and who has the better timing that day. If he wants to drag race I'll go Tim the Tool Time Taylor on his ask!!!! Twin Turbo charged Toyota engine strapped to my granddaughters tricycle.

The one with the most toys wins! or is it the one with the most expensive! or is it the one who lives to see tomarrow?

Live to ride Ride to live (can we borrow that?)
