Honda recon 250
#1
I have a Honda recon 250 2001. It was running perfectly and would start as soon as you pressed the starter button. It was idling kind of slow so I tried turning it up by tightening the idle screw and now it won’t start and when I do get it started after cracking on it, it won’t even idle with the choke on. What do I do?

When you write "I tried turning it up by tightening the idle screw" did you screw the throttle stop screw in on the side of the slide? Or the idle mixture screw, which is underneath? If you screwed in the mixture screw, take it back out again, the throttle stop screw shouldn't make any difference to the running, except raise the idle speed. Another possibility is it was running slow due to a partly blocked jet and this has now completely blocked. If so, take off the float bowl, remove the jets and blow them and the holes they came from, out with compressed air.
