Do you need a big bore kit for a 400ex to beat a banshee?

I was thinking of puting some Mods on my 400ex and I was woundering if you really need a 440ex kit to beat a banshee.
I was going to put a full pipe system on but what one? I was thinking of a Big-gun or white brothers or FMF.
And The only 440ex kit I was thinking of was the white brothers one because it said not to hurt your overall reliability and can still run pumped gas.

If you're talking about beating a Banshee in a drag race, forget it. You picked the wrong machine. Otherwise, check out Thumper Racing, www.thumper-racing.net.

No you do not need a 440 to beat a Banshee. My mods are listed below and when I race piped Banshee's up dunes I can usually take them. Get a White Bros Exhaust, K&N, jet it, bore to 416 get a 10:8:1 piston and a GT Thunder cam and maybe a carb.

The truth is hard medicine to swallow, girls...
My 416 keeps up with and sometimes pulls my friend's piped DS650, as well as QR500's and Banshees I've gone up against in straight line 300+ yd drag races. And we all know the 400EX SMOKES everything on the track or on the trails. Although I have not had a chance to race a Raptor yet, since my friend's DS650 can take a Raptor, I assume I can keep up with or take a Raptor too.
A stock 400EX is just waiting to be woken up, and it doesn't take much $$$ to do just that. You don't have to go to a 440...a 416 or higher (426, 430) can keep up with the big boys with 100-260 more cc's.
Why? Power to weight ratio.

An EX beating a Banshee in a drag???
I ride with lots of Banshees and lots of EX's. I don't like Banshees and I do like EX's but from what I have seen there is no contest if all you do is drag race. My slightly modded 250R just walks away from any EX I have raced (alot) and at the same time, my buddies Banshee with Toomeys and some other crap on it just walks away from me.
An EX might beat a Banshee if there is no traction and if the Banshee rider is an idiot, but c'mon, all a Banshee does well is go in a straight line -- you guys should give credit where credit is due. EX's just aren't that fast even though they are a much better quad.
I see alot of wishful thinking on this board.

Yea, you tell 'em RoostKing.
Look at it this way, for speed the Banshee is the benchmark against which all high performance quads are measured. Look at all of the "can my blah blah quad beat a Bansheee?" posts. Funny, you don't see to many "gee, I wonder if my Banshee can beat a 400ex posts".
All in good fun, guys. The 400 ex is a heck of a nice machine but it does seem to take a lot to make it fast in a drag race.
