2008 trx250ex not starting
#1
I can’t get power to the starter switch. Lights work. it will sit in neutral but neutral light will not come on. It’s like it thinks it’s in gear or reverse or something and does nothing. Tried to run a wire straight from the fuse to the neutral light but nothing. Any ideas to get started much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Neutral switch is on the earth circuit. There is a lock-out from this switch which only allows the bike to start in neutral. The most common cause of the neutral circuit not working is the wire come off the neutral switch. Not certain where it is on the 250, probably close to where the lever for the reverse cable goes into the back of the gearbox, often hidden by a steel cover plate. If it hasn't come off, check the switch is working by switching ignition on and touching the wire from the neutral switch to earth. If the neutral light then comes on, you must have a faulty switch.
