silly question ?..when checking the oil !

sounds like a silly one but i guess i,ve always wondered ! When i check the oil in my atv do i re-thread the dip stick or just put it in and don,t screw it down firm ? the threads will make a different reading....that,s why i wonder!...call me blond! 400 foreman 4x4...thanks for any response , this site is great !!!!

For my 300ex the honda manual says not to screw it down. Just dip it.

yup........don't screw it in..........just sit it on top of the thread

bit different to the massey engine dip stick

ps.........what model fergie ya got?.......

TERRY-- My owner's manual for the 2k Foreman-S says NOT to screw dip stick in.

I HATE TO INFORM EVERYONE, BUT PER THE HONDA DEALER WHERE I LIVE THE MANUEL CLEARLY STATES TO STICK IN THE DIP STICK AND SCREW IT DOWN TO GET A CORRECT LEVEL.. I'LL GO WITH THE DEALER.
