Hello fellow Honda ppl! I’m currently building and 96 Honda Fourtrax 300 fw and I want to put an oem Honda big red 250 cam in it but they seem to be made out of “un-obtainium”… but trx 250 cams are available for pretty cheap. Is the cam out of a 85 trx 250 the same as the big red 250? I’m looking to make better low end power and more torque and if they are the same that would be awesome. Thanks im advance for the help!

 

By Big Red I assume you mean the ATC 250 three wheeler? Just checked part numbers and both used 14101-HAO-000. However I doubt if using a cam for a smaller bike will do anything other than drop the power slightly.

 

Trx300 88-90 have best cam I alway use them on 92-2000 1 more horsepower with head assembly
