Hello Everyone,
This is my very first time ever posting so please be patient with me lol. My girl popped a chain and unfortunately got part of her crank case and crank case cover broken and now she’s missing the top bolt mount for holding the mount for the reverse lever which is the same bolt mount for installing a new OEM chain guide/guard or even most other chain savers I see on the market today. I got really really lucky that there was not worst damage. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other types of case savers that would fit my bike but wouldn’t mount using that now missing bolt mount lol… because I know if she pops a chain ever again that the damage will be a permanent end to her…I’ve ordered a new front sprocket, oil seal, back sprocket and a new chain and will have to just be super careful to make sure it never happens again but before I do I wanted to reach out to fellow 300ex peeps and see if there is anything out there that could help me. I’ve included some pics of the damage for reference
thanks for any help or ideas!
I do actually have most of it but there’s still a partial piece missing. I’m not sure if it’s possible to weld the pieces I have remaining but that’s an excellent idea and one I actually already considered. I have two friends that weld but neither of them are used to welding aluminum and do not have the necessary attachments/equipment. I have yet to expand my search out for other companies that have that ability and know how but I’ll consider it.
