Honda is starting to let us know what they've got cooking for 2026 and so far the Rancher, Foreman and Rubicon are official:

No mention of ES models in that announcement. Much better bikes than the over-complex Autos but never available with power steering in the UK. We have one and it is truly awful to steer. No idea why, as a customers (identical) bike is quite light on the steering. Yes, we have tried different tyres, tracking it up and checking for tight ball joints.

Honda could have made the 300 until about 2020 when emission rules seem to have stopped air cooling and carbs, it was a better bike than 350, 2006-2014 420 and the 250s. New models are not always a step forwards. Electronics apart, the current 420s and 500s are good sound designs, (old Rubicon was better than the new one though). The ludicrous "scoop" in the battery box top to funnel dirt, grain, water and whatever else into the battery box, is about the only mistake carried over from the previous 420. They will probably have to come out with an electric alternative sometime soon anyway. I'm surprised they didn't replace the 250 with one to "test the water" as it could prove popular with farmers, who don't stray too far from a power point but do have to make a trip to an often distant filling station every few days for fresh petrol.
