I rode a buddy's 400 today It has a filter,jet kit,pipe and rev kit. WOW, what a difference. Now I understand the filter,jet kit and pipe but what does the rev kit do for you? Dos it just set your rev limmit higher or is there some other bennifit? He said the rev kit gave the biggest power gaine, but I don't rev my quad that high. So my question is. Is a rev kit some thing I should look into?(After filter, jets and pipe )

 

The rev box never did make sense to me because by all the diagrams I have seen, the motor peaks out then the power drops off. I don't see how a rev box will give more power.

 

Hey Danimal- I have the rev bow on my EX. As for a power increase, I felt a little off the bottom and it does rev higher. I don't think it wil hurt the motor as the XR motor revs to 10,000 rpm from the factory. The biggest power increase I felt was a carb/pipe combo. This was $700 but worth it. If you do go with the rev box, you need to check the price of a 99 XR 250 box from Honda. That's what everbody is selling as their aftermarket boxes.
