I heard a Banshee could beat a Corvette...

Hahahaha...I love some of the replies in this post. NO, a Stock Banshee will not beat one of the decent Vette's in the 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile. By "decent Vette" I mean almost all but the 1980-84 Vette's (still they aren't bad). I raced my friend with my '86 IROC and I let him take off first (we were the only two people so we had no flag man). As soon as I saw him move I took off. He jumped me by about 15ft, but by the 1/8 mile I was ahead of him by a fair margin and pulled more from there. Also, 3 weeks ago I clocked him with my '92 Taurus SHO and on the way back we lined them up. Again, he went first. I dropped the clutch and the smoke started to roll off my tires, all the way through first gear, and part of second. I admit, he got me in the 1/8 mile, but I was by him again in the 1/4. If I could hook up I think I could get him all the way since my Taurus is faster than my IROC. Anyway, this is a hilariously funny post. You guys are right, it doesn't make a difference if a Banshee can beat a Vette, BUT how many of questions on these boards do. Good post ATV_MAN!

Not trying to start anything here. BUT , i live around 50 miles from a drag traack ( Hub City Dragway , for all those in MS ) , and i personally saw someone on a 295R ( obviously pretty highly modded with the gears to match ) , he ran around a 13.8 - 13.9 somewhere around 88 MPH , i think the trick was that the bike just tore out of the hole so quick and through the 1/8th....

Oh no doubt that a modified four wheeler could beat a Vette, or almost any other kind of car depending on the extent of the mods. You figure that technically something only has to have a top speed of 60mph to run a 15 second quarter mile. Although it would have to hit 60 the instant it left the line to do it. Take a Banshee with Nitrous or something like that, then you might have a good race. I suck at math, but if he is hitting 88mph in the 1/4 than his minimum possible time would be 10.27 seconds so he has to be getting up to top speed REALLY quick to pull off 13.9 seconds. Anyway, all that thinking is making my brain hurt. Later.
