e-series or r-series????

I have heard that the r-series for the 400EX does not put out as much power as the e-series. I think the r-series looks better too but I went with the e-series. I think the disc type systems are better all-around because they are tunable AND are spark arrested. All the other types of pipes use a spark arrestor that hurts performance.

when I was looking into getting a pipe, I downloaded the instruction manual for the E-series from white bros. site. in it they explane how they designed the E-series to be used with stock jetting and no air box mods. sounded good! they also said if you do decide to do some air box or filter mods then you would need to re-jet. they gave dyno charts and everything.
when I went to go get the pipe, the guy at the shop brought out the E-series and a pro circuit T4. the T4 is very similar in design to the white bros. R4. I had $280 to work with so, my options were; get the E-series ($265), or get the pro circuit ($199) with a k&n jet kit ($45). I ended up getting the pro circuit and I'm very happy with it.
the point I'm trying to make is, the E-series is a very versitile pipe. you can run it without re-jetting and it is tunable. the dyno charts were very impresive for a bike not being re-jetted. if you open up the air box and re-jet you can get even more power. I'm almost sure the E puts out more power than the R, but the R (I think) looks better, and with the proper jetting (which you will HAVE to do with the R) should put up strong numbers. and the R will be louder.
