I would like to know any further mods I can do to make my 440ex a little bit faster? I wouls like to be beating most little modded raptors. I beat most stock right now.

Maybe a higher compression piston. Start making it lighter.

To make your EX faster, get new cam, port job, and re-gear it.
I run 13/39 on my EX and I have yet to be beat by a piped banshee up steep dunes.

How much money ya got?

Actually, you could go with a higher compression piston, but with the 440 kit I'm assuming you're probably already near 11:1. A better bet for more power is to install a more agressive cam, such as either the XR400 or GT Thunder cams--both will increase mid to top end power with the nod for sand going to GT Thunder. A larger carb would also help significantly.

I just recently bored my 400EX to a 416, and installed a 10.8:1 JE Piston, XR400 cam, and Keihin 39mm FCR carb--this set up made a world of difference on my machine...much more power and very responsive. With this carb and a more wild cam on your present 440 set up, I'd say you'd have no problem in wasting slightly modified Raptors.

I saw a dyno once of a 440EX with a Edelbrock Quicksilver carb. it gained 6hp over original carb.

I put a 14 counter on my 440 and noticed a gain on the bottom and mid. You will probably need a rev box because I know that I would be hitting the limiter without it. I was suprised that I could notice. The WB R-4 didn't show this much gain.

Hey 4X4Boar. Just wanted to let you know about the Edelbrock carb for a 440. I love mine but I guess I'm being bias. Call Duncan racing and ask them about it. Doug Eichner smoked the competition at the White Bros. World 4-Stroke Nationals on a Duncan 440 with an Edelbrock. He embarrassed the big bore built Raptors. I do agree with the rest of the guys here, you should look at a cam also.
