After reading the pipe test in Dirt Wheels i decided i would buy the WB E series slip on pipe for my month old 400ex. When i called and ordered the pipe the guy at Moto-Man said i should also get the K&N Power Kit so i whent ahead and ordered that to. The pipe was a breeze to install. Next was the K&N filter and jet kit. After taking off the plastic, tank, and air box this was simple. I was worried about if i could do this but as long as you just read the instructions it's easy. The one thing that i was not happy with was the Dyno-jets. The Keihin jets allow you to use a socket to change the main jet but the Dyno jets are made for a screwdriver. I found it really hard to change the main jet with the carb on the quad. After i installed all the stuff i had to take off and doubled checked my hose clamps i started her up. I have to say i was surprised at how loud the quad was over stock. I took the quad out Sunday for a ride and i was pleased at the power the pipe and power kit has added and the jetting seems to be right on. I raced a stock 400ex and i beat him by about 4 quad links. What i like about it is it seems to make more midrange power and rev a little quicker. So overall i'm very happy with my purchase. Thanks for your time.

Thank you very much for that. I was planing to order a WB e-serie after my filter and jet kit too. I have ordered the filter and jet kit, but did not received them. I will start by installing both, and tell you how it is without the WB on. I wonder if it does a big difference, I heard the pipe dont do (almost) nothing unless you mod your motor a little bit. Anyways, i'll check that.

Thanks for the review

Nice to here that you're happy with your set-up. You could have saved some cash though if you had skipped the power kit and just bought the filter and some Keihin (sp) main jets at your dealer. You get the same outcome. Either way though, good to here that you're happy with your purchase, that's all that really matters anyway.

I used the 170 main jet with the needle on the third notch from the top.

I am considering the WB slip on as well. My concern is the noise. How loud is loud? Say on a scale of 1 to 10, 5 being stock.

I would say a 7 on the noise scale lol. I ordered mine from Moto-Man so far i've had very good luck with them.

I would have to say it is about a 7. Then you can also order a thing called "Quiet Core" and install it on your White Brothers E-series exhaust. I'm pretty sure it is a packing that reduces noise. Not real sure. I don't have it, but I plan on getting it. The loudest I have heard is DG. Before I put White Brothers E-series on mine, I just had to try the DG Krome Power. Man did it look good, but man did it put out no horsepower but put out some noise.
