wiseco piston
#12
I have the setup you are talking about (11:1), and while most of the time I run 75:25 mix of Premium to race gas to be on the safe side for demanding racing conditions, I have run about 7 gallons of straight 92 octain pump gas, and have never once experinced detonation (did once with some 87 that I had to borrow to get home though). It honestly is a good setup, and goes well with a cam and porting. Also, I have never had any problems with weisco (in 3 quads and a dirtbike), they are just very sensitive to having the ring gap tolerances set perfect.

Wiseco piston rings also have a tighter tolerence compared to stock, so when you bore your engine you need to have the piston ready with you to take measurements for the bore. If the piston seams to have a snugg fit your rings are going to push the oil off the cylinder walls, causing a seizer. Believe it or not but you can run a wiseco piston with a clearence of .035 hundreds of an inch away from the cylinder walls with the rings taking up for the slack and it will run good for about a year before the rings wear out and loss of compression occurs (not recommended).
