400ex or a polaris?

Polaris down right suck- unless you are buying one for your girlfriend or wife-

go with a 400ex- it will spank the polaris ANY day.

Get the 400ex. I traded my 500 scrambler for one and I will never go back. The ex has way better suspention and is just funner to ride.

Scrambler 400 hands down, for one your getting the performance, speed and looks of a sport quad.
But also the torque, work capabilities, and comfort of a utility quad

It don't get any better than that!!!...well sitting under the only still in production 400cc 2 stroke does'nt hurt when your blowing past your buddies 400ex 4 croak.LOL.

LONG LIVE POLARIS!!!

I would say to go for the 400ex.... In my opinion, the scrambler just does not stack up. Sure it is comfy...and automatic. I think the automatic would be the biggest downfall for me. That and the McPherson struts...the machine can handle small jumps...But try to air it out and you will have a reality check really quickly as you land like a brick.
My buddies polaris is fun...I like to switch with him from time to time. But after years of shifting...Sitting there and pushing the throttle is not appealing to me.
I think the polaris has slightly more potential as a work machine than the 400ex.
But to sum it up...It really comes down to what you would be comfortable with. I would not even put the two machines in the same lineup. In my opinion, the polaris bikes are not sport quads. I have never seen a sport quad with a lawn tractor shifter on the fender. I think the next step for polaris would be to go hydrostatic or something of the like. Get rid of the thumb throttle and use the shift lever as an all and one go fast lever.
I'm talking about the 2 wheel drive models...Now another friend of mine has the 500 4x4...It is great in the woods with a winch. And the mud he can go through just leaves me sitting on the bank watching.
Like I said...polaris has something going for them. It's just not the bike for me. If it is right for you is a decision only you can make.

On another note....I know some of the comments I made will not likely fly well with current polaris owners...But that is my opinion...I've ridden them, and nobody is going to change my mind. So don't even try. My buddy is more than comfortable with coming up to my house and tearing a stump out of the ground for me. Cause the 400ex just will not do it.
