ticking, valve noise, timing chain noise... and I could swear that I heard rod knock at mid RPM cruising throttle on.

Bastard who sold me this bike needs to get his a$$ beat.

Anyone selling an XR200 engine? XR250? XR350?

OR, how much ROUGHLY would it cost to rebuild it.
HOW complicated is splitting the cases.

OR, how much would it cost to take it to our local "engine broker/rebuilder" and have them do it? (I would remove the motor and take it to them)

This sucks. I got my new 400EX, we wanted to buy something so that BOTH of us could go riding. Back to square one only after RIDE number one.
That little 84' 200X is sure fun in the mud though!!

Someone point me in the right direction.

Hard to say without actually hearing it, but most of the 200xs ive seen are noisy, mine makes all kinds of noise[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] id give it some time
