RotGutBottom-
I think my 416 can beat my 2 friend's 430EX's due to the faster-revs of the lightweight 416, but more importantly, due to the wilder camshaft that I went with. It's not a full race cam, but it is one step above a "rec" or trail cam.

I spent ~$700 on the engine mods--416 overbore, high-compression Wiseco Piston, Web XR400 cam & jetting (170 main, I think).

I am dying to race a 440EX (haven't yet), but I was told by my atv shop that my 416 would probably beat 430's (which it does) and 440's....in drag races & on the trail/track. However, in BIG hill climbs, they would probably take me. (due to more torque?)

so... in Motocross races... it would probibly be better running a 416 rather than a 440? I'm thinking about doing the big bore thing and definately want the best setup for that type of application.

So it sounds like the 440 is only useful for mountain or hillclimb...

You guys are frickin hillarius! It's good to see that nobody is getting TOO worked up about poking a little fun at each other.

That's good stuff!

DS650 is twice the machine the Raptor is, they have not had any troubles with DS at all, The Raptor is blowing reverse, second gear, clutches, upper A-arms. I was looking forward to buying a Raptor but it is nothing but a piece of sh#@.

WE will see on Sunday if you can beat the DS650 on something other than the most loose sand I have ever ridden, and see if you can beat a LT250R on a 1/3 Mile drag. WE WILL SEE MARCY-MARC

Dan's rev limiter was bouncing on 10,500 rpm,s and I was still walking away in 6th gear

well i don't agree with the fact that DS650's are more reliable...but for one thing...of course Raptors are gonna have more problems. they have sold 4 times as many. I know this has little to do with how many people own DS650s...but the last time I looked...Bombardier or however you spell it doesn't have many topics in its forum. Its not as low as cannondale, but it ain't much. Right now it is 1,188 topics. yamaha has 9,413. I would have to say there are more yamaha owners. So what do you expect when there is 1 DS650 and 100 Raptors. Of course more raptors are going to have problems. Plus, the number doesn't really even matter. Its the percentage. and i'm sure the owners of the raptors beat the thing to. I'm not saying all of them did, but I'm sure most of them helped mess things up.

I really found this thread funny. I was told to come look at it because I usually only visit the Bombadier forum. The original topic was just encouragement for honda riders to press Honda to build a more powerfull performance quad, and then some of you got really defensive. Juggalo said it, "Edited by Moderator"

As far as proving it in the woods and not in the forum, I'm game for that. We don't have much in the way of woods around here, but we have desert trails and MX tracks and sand. I'll run anywere. Bring on the big bore EX's and I'll bring one of my big bore DS's[703 or 760CC's]. If you want to compair your big bore EX's to a stock bore DS, then your just helping to prove the original point, Honda needs to come out with a more powerfull performance quad.

By the way 97300exguy, if you haven't noticed yet, the # of topics is way off. Look at the 79 topics claimed in the Canondale forum, but if you go in there, it's a total of 9 topics and only 40 posts all together.
