Hi i am looking to buy a Honda Rancher here in the next month and i was wondering if it could handle a plow to be put on it? I am talkin about a 50 inch Moose plow. I will be pushing about 6 inches of snow wiht it. Tanks a lot.

I have a 50" moose plow on my Rancher. I plowed our stone driveway all last winter, which was one of the snowiest around this area in a long time. The only problem I had was that I didn't plan well enough for the last couple of dumps. Heavy wet snow. We had a few feet at the end of March, beginning of April. I didn't push the first batch far enough off the sides of the driveway, and when we got hit with the second storm a few days later, I didn't have much of anywhere to push the snow to. ATV plows are not like pickup plows. You can only lift the plow maybe 9-12" off the ground. So you can't easily push snow over the top of a 3 foot pile. So you just have to start your piles far enough out that they have room to grow during the winter. The Rancher had no problem with power during any of the plowing.

Cheers,

It's equipped with a responsive moderately powered motor. As far as power, it can break traction easy pleasy with stock tires against a load in 1st, also 1st isn't an 'ultra low' like in some of the utilitys. On flat ground it'll dig four holes with the tires, on pavement I dunno, I don't drive pavement.

Yes it can handle it. I have a 60 inch moose blade and i grade gravel, move dirt, and plow very deep snow ( snow drifts that are higher then the high side of the plow)
