What size rim (and who makes them) are required for a "rikken style radial" front mx tire? Should I go for these types of wheels or the new designed Holeshot MX fronts? Also, does anyone on this board shave off a pattern of ***** on Turf-tamers for mx? What are the advantages of this?

My Rikens are on 10X5 wheels. You shouldn't have any problems finding them, it's a pretty common size.

The reason you shave Turf Tamers is to get a better bite and they clean out better too.

I just switch to the holeshot mx's up front and am really impressed. They work great, and are so much cheaper than the radials. Both the mx and the radial mount on 10 x 5's. I would go with the mx. You can get them at rockymount atv on 190s for a little over two bills with shipping. Thats the best price you will find anywhere, believe me I've priced'em everywhere.

Thanks for the info! I just wanted to know because I recently was given a set of 10x5 wheels and wanted to make sure that they would fit before I ordered any. I've looked at the Holeshot MX fronts, but my big concern with them is how fast they wear (even more so because of the "new, softer compound".) Also, I've talked to quite a few people at my locacl track, and they claim that for there, Turf-tamers and front radials are the hot setup, because it's a well groomed track that is never allowed to be muddy (I heard that the radials aren't very good for mud, and it ***** up on the tread.)
