question for 250R owners with Fullbore plastic
#1
I just got my new front full fenders from Fullbore yesterday. Immediately upon removing it from the box I could see it was totally distorted and bent up. The right fender is 6 inches higher than the left, the sides that go next to the tank are folded so bad there is a crease, and the right side lower part of the fender (above the pipe) is rolled up like a newspaper.
K and K ATV (where I got them from) said they all look like this and that one day in the sun will allow the plastic to return to its original shape. I find this very hard to believe.
I am 3/4 done with building a $10k+ 250R and I am a total freak about attention to detail. As it looks now this plastic is not acceptable to me and will not be going on my quad.
Anyone else have this problem? Did yours "straighten itself out" all on its own? Am I getting screwed?
There were also no instructions as to where the bag of hardware goes. I am assuming I need to drill a hole in the plastic to install a bottom mount.
I hope I didn't make a $280 mistake - that money would have gone a long ways toward OEM plastic!

Yeah, it sucks but I am reserving final judgement until I either hear back from Fullbore which I emailed or until this stuff "fixes itself". I am most concerned about where the fender is sort of "rolled up" -- I don't see how this can be fixed.
It seems like a decent product that was shipped hap-hazardly.
It really sucks to spend $300 just so that your quad looks like it already hit a tree!

K&K ATV got it to me within four days. They are always REALLY good about getting me the right parts real fast the first time. I used to get my stuff from Nacs but after a few problems I won't go into here I have switched to K&K. Out of ten+ orders they haven't screwed up yet.
This Fullbore thing is the first problem I have ever had and maybe I jumped the gun. I have my fenders sitting out in the sun like the guy said right now - maybe they will be all straightened up when I get home from work tonight but I am doubtful.
I agree that the hairdryer might work - but man, I just got these things! I hate to do battle-damage-repair on something that hasn't even seen battle yet!

i would contact fullbore directly about this issue. i really doubt that what they said is true. check out fullbores website and there should be a customer service e-mail somewhere in there: www.fullboreinnovations.com

Well -- it looks like I jumped the gun starting this thread. I just went out and looked at my fenders and I'll be damned if they haven't actually returned to 95% of the shape they were supposed to be. One edge is still a little rolled up but it is definitely getting better. If they had looked this good the day I took them from the box I would never have complained/worried.
The guys at K & K were right I guess - makes me wish I had never brought this up.
One thing: the new front Fullbores are so shiny/glossy that they make my OEM rear fenders look old and beat up. They finish on this stuff is AWESOME!!!
