So is honda going to come out with a new sports quad in Sept????

I think the Honda convention is September 19-24. I hope for a 650ex. I really don`t care what they make as long as it`s a four stroke. Anything they make will be better than the 400ex. As long as it can compete with the Raptor`s and the Cannondale`s then that`s all that matters. Plus it will have Honda`s killer handling. 650 all the way.

i dunnno...i think honda might have somethin up their sleeve. i think honda just released the 400EX as kind of an experiment. you know like to see what would happen when a new sport quad went on the market. well we all know what happened- the sport quad market exploded! now they know theres a lot of money to be made so they might release somethin ultra high performance. do i think it will be a 2 stroke? unfortunately no. honda is moving away from 2 strokes. i think the only possibility of honda releasing a 2 stroke quad is if they got into quad racing like cannondale has. the sporttrax line will be like the XR line of dirtbikes and they will have a different name (fourtrax probably) for racing. i hope thats true but i doubt it is.

One thing you can expect from Honda, is not to expect anything. For all we know Honda might come out with something to go against the Yamaha Wolverine and Polaris Scrambler. Or it may be a 50cc mini. We just don't know. I think if they do come out with a high performance quad it would be a 650 or even like cstark said, it could be a 500. I just don't see them using the 450, right now anyways. I think they will see how the Cannondale's do first then make the descision whether or not to put in a 450 motor. But hey I could be wrong. But if I worked at Honda thats what I would do. Or they could come out with an updated version of the 400EX. We just don't know.

I posted in here almost 16 months ago what my friend who is in the Navy saw in japan while touring some old navy partnership/training land in Japan. He swears he seen a XR650 engine in a pure white plastic large 400EX type frame that looked completly hand built. They stopped the truck and jumped out to take a peek but When he was spotted they quickly drove in to another part of the area and simply kept rideing. He really didnt know what he saw until we talked and he metioned that Japaneese make project quads just like us and I was like that wanst just some back yard bozo you seen

If they're coming out with a new sport quad it's very secretive. No spy photos.... Well in the mean time I'll just cruise on the reigning king of high-performance quads.... Yamaha 660 Raptor

Here is my opinon on Honda. 1. Honda will come out with a 440 EX that will be water cooled. By doing this they will improve a battle tested engine with minimal modification and also allow the engine to receive more radical heat producing mods without going CC crazy to protect there liability. 2. Honda will come out with a new 2 cycle. It may be a re-release of the 250 R with the updated 250 engine or the will bump up the cc to 300-350 in order to compete with Yamaha's Banshee. (Even though unchanged still a highly desired item by the consumer).
Even though Honda a made agreements with Uncle Sam not to produce new 2 cycle engines, I think that they are going jump in and give the consumer the products the demand or they risk being left behind.
That is just my opion.
