I have a 99 300ex. I used to be able to have it in gear and pull the clutch in and have it start. Now with it in gear it won't start even with the clutch pulled in. Is something wrong with the clutch or the cable or what? If I stall it or shut it off in gear I have to have it in nuetral for it to start again. Thanks for your help!!!!!

 

Did you put on a different perch ? If so thats your problem becuase there are 2 little wires on the stock perch that prevent it from starting without the clutch pulled in , unles your in neutral. Also If you have the stock perch then check the wires coming out of it to see if there loose or cut or something wrong with them. Good luck ,Zeebo.

 

Mine used to do the same. Turned out the little black box inside there was shot so I just cut the 2 green wires and then connected them, so now mine starts in any gear except reverse, with or without the clutch pulled in.

 

its probly the mico switch inside your clutch perch housing..cross the wires and see if it starts ....if it does replace the switch....

 

Hey, Thanks a lot guys, it was the two green wires that run into the perch that have connectors on them. The one was barely on but it must not have been on enough to make contact. Again Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
