well as many you of you know i recently got my 250r. and i was wondering, since the head is milled and the cylinder is ported and polished i have to run 110 octane gas, which no one sells around here, closest is about 30 mins away. but i was wondering, if i just went out and bought a stock head or even a cool heads head for the cylinder is it possible to be able to run a 91 octane gas through the engine without burning all the compression out of it? i have 91 octane here at home in the farm pump. i run it through my suzuki and havent had a problem yet, but i dont dare run it through the honda. or is it just best to leave it all alone and run the 110 through it and make it a hassel to ride? the engine and quad setup came straight from wrath racing. i got it from a weekend racer for wrath racing. so the engine is very strong. any feedback would be a big help

chances are your porting is matched to the head. If you drop the compression, you will lose alot of low end, and the motor will probably run poorly. Try some Aviation fuel, I run it in my 250R (+4 timing and 240 PSI of compression) and it works great.

have you thought about buying torco fuel in the 55 gallon drums? its cheaper more convienant and 55 gallons doesnt really last that long. just an idea. later wil.

Why not buy an octane booster and mix it with your gas? It's easier then driving 30min for fuel and it's cheaper when you take into consideration how much gas you waste getting race fuel.

How about instead of running 2 base gaskets why not run 2 head gaskets?

Also If U got a cool head just put pump gas domes in it.U can't have both a really high performance motor and still be able to run pump gas.

I suggest giving wrath racing a call and talk to them.

i take back the thicker base gasket answer but will add though it would be better to pull the head and while your changing that dome thing also would'nt hurt to push it out side and let the rain fill it up,then turn it upside down to ck the float
