I just picked up a nice used recon. The front tires are the stock goodyear trackers and they are shot. What do you guys suggest to replace them with. This quad will be trail ridden. I like the looks of the goodyears but I would like to know if there is something better. Something that will resist punctures. Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked on their website and I can't find any in the 22 7 11 size.

I have had good luck with my goodyears. I will more than likely put them back on when the time comes. I have aprox. 330 hours on mine and do some hard rock road riding and it looks like they are about half way through there life. I keep mine right on 3 psi. Chet

I have been surprised how well the stock Goodyears have held up. As I recall, they are only rated as one ply (?). When I first got the bike, I was scared to death these things would self distruct at any minute. Anyway, I have had them over some stuff that I was sure was going to tear them to pieces. Well, years later they are still on the bike and going strong. When they need to be replaced (which will be soon), I will replace them with the same thing. The fact that the tires on the bike you bought are worn out, tells us something-they hung in there a very long time!

Bearclaws are worth a look. Great all around tire and quite durable.

The front tires on a 2wd do not mater much, heck they can be bald and it would no matter. My freind was having tire flat problems on his 3 wheeler and he had tubes put in the tire and never needs to add air anymore.

Well personaly I think that front tires do play an important role on any 2wd , if you have bald tires then you will not be able to turn very precisely or go into the turns very fast. Thats why they make different brands ! I would agree with evryone who said the stockers on the recon are awesome ! I had my recon for 2 yearsand I rode it almost everyday and had to replace the rears ounce because they wore down fast and I was ALWAYS getting flats. I got some 6ply holeshots and got probably 2 flats with them. I never had to replace the front stock goodyears and I never got a flat with them.

Thank you guys for all of your replys. I just picked up a new set of the original style Goodyears this afternoon. Hopefully this weekend we'll get a chance to try them out.
