killer250r told me a recon could walk away from a 300. i always thought the bigger the engine the faster it goes. i know theres a weight difference but still, why is this? whats the top speed for the recon and the 300? because now my weights being shifted over to the recon...

pyromaniac442, Does the 442 stand for elibomsdlo backwards because if does I had a 67. Still have no spg backwards. You have updated your website since I was there last. Chet

I would avoid the 300 because it is now out of production. Get the Recon if you are on the small side, or consider a 2X4 Rancher (Hondas replacement for the 300) if the Recon is on the small side for you.

Actually the Recon can beat a 300 in a drag race. And then if it is a technical track then the Recon will cover the 300 in dust. I race 300s all the time with my Recon and I usually win. The Recon fits me perfect as I'm 5'6" and about 150 punds.

just because the 300 is out of production doesnt mean anything. its a great four wheeler and if ur gettin a recon or 300 just for speed ur buyin it for the wrong reason. the 300 will go anywhere u want to ride it and thats what its for. not for dragracing recons.

YZGUY: To avoid a 300 because it’s out of production is ridiculous. I don’t know of another machine that has the same reputation of quality as the 300’s. The total number of the 300’s in existence is huge, hundreds of thousands. Parts will be limitless for the next 20 plus years. I highly doubt the Recon will have the same type of production run as 300’s.

Hondatrx300: If speed is your deciding factor go for the Recon but either choice is a good one.

Good Luck

Adam,

What are the odds that we type almost the exact same thing? Weird...

hiofcer-The reason is, why spend your money on old technology when you can have new?? Like a dry sump engine, transverse mounted engine, better suspension, etc. My local dealer has a 300 that's been on the floor as long as I can remember; while Ranchers go out the door every day!

From other posts, hondatrx300 sounds young and on the small side. If so, the Recon would be the best pick anyway.
