I wouldnt use anything but Aluminum for a skidplate.
I can make a bumper out of metal pipe and just paint it black.

You cant really raise the rear ground clearance because if you did, the skid plate would be at the same height, all your doing is raising the seat and frame up.

 

so the best thing to do would be to just get 23 inch tires on the back and hope for the best or just air up the 22s

yeah im going to get some tires from atc corral probably this weekend for the winter and next year,
by the way how loud is your sx? mine seems too loud and if this is how loud its supposed to be what would a cobra sound like?

I just posted pics of it in another post(they are old pics from last year) I dont think I will make a skid-plate...my shop teacher wont order in some diamond plate for me, Ohh well I dont need it.

Actually mine is quiet....sounds like theres a hole somewhere in your pipe. A cobra pipe would be alot louder. Did you see them in Royal Distributing??, they were around $140.
