MUD TIRES!!!!!
#11
Yep the right front axle stripped out at the wheel. I'm not sure what caused it. My problem with the 589's is the weight of them first and the way they dig down so fast. I thought the mudrunners were 4ply VS 6 ply for the 589 therefore they would weigh less. does anyone know how much the mudrunners weigh? And it is trrue these tires will rip thru anything as long as they don't high center. I was riding on hard pack powerline the other day after it had rained. I thought that the 589 was a little on the slippery side. I am pretty disgusted about the axle. I don't think this should happen to a new quad period!

YoeSeaOh-
Stipped out at the wheel? That doesn't sound right at all! Granted, you already knew that, but I mean, something doesn't sound right-if it pulled out from any "normal" stuff, it should have pulled the half-shaft from the inner cv joint before it would pull from the outter-I would think anyway. Did you look it over good-is anything really broken, or just separated? If it came apart like that, at the very least, a cir-clip would be tweaked, if not cracked or broken. -or possibly they forgot to put one in in the first place??? Those are what hold the joint in it's place, prevent it from pulling out. I had the same thing happen when both my balljoints broke, but again, it came out of the inner cv, not the outter. I would have that examined by the dealer immediately-it just sounds kind of fishy.
As for the actual tire weights, sorry I can't help you with those. Somebody posted a site a LONG time ago that had them for a lot of different tires, but I don't remember who it was, or what the site was. Maybe do a search for the Goodyear site, and the "mudrunners" in general, see if they have specific criteria information-like actual size and weight-that might work???
Best of Luck, and curious to know what broke, or how they will fix it for you-hope it gets resolved to your satisfaction!

Cowboy, I can only tell you that there is a spider gear at the end of the shaft. a ball and some peices of some kind of gear or clip came out of the right frt where the shaft connects. hope this helps. I'm bringing it to the dealer right now so I'll keep you posted

I have the old Titan 589's (same as ITP's now) and they are awesome!
I bought a pair of the new 589's (true Titan)and really like the rim edge guard, and lug design changes.
Sory to hear of the 650 axle failure, but I guess that comes with the territory. Big tires + big power = greater potential for failure.
