RaptorYFM660R, I'm sure you grasped the point Killer250R was trying to make. It was quite obvious to me.

I have two utes, and maybe you don't live in the same place I do, but I use them quite frequently. Like today, we had to chase cows down the road. ever try that on a 300EX?? It's HARD. Cows turn, speed up, slow down.. turn around... The EX wheelied more than the front tires were touching. This is not good. I took it back to the house, and got on the Polaris 300... I was finished within 10 minutes. Utilities are made for a purpose.. maybe not for you, or fourtracker14, but for guys that live on farms/in the country, they are the best thing since horses.

Yes, it was quite obvious to me. I was messing with Killer's mind. If I had to sell one of my Atv's one of the first to go would be the Raptor because it is such a single purpose Quad. My utility 300 4x4 would be the last to go. Chet

I can personally atest to you stupidity. I haul moose, cariou, deer, bear (brown (grizz), black) out of the woods with a combination of both my 400 EX and my Suburban (blown/supercharged). 1 I like to go fast in either, 2 I believe it is the driver not so much the machine that makes the WORK happen.

I am probably the authority of snow and ice on this board as I have to live with it for better than 6 months a year from 1st snow fall to break up. A rustang or camaro will handle fine in the ice and snow, It depends on the driver and conditions. Many of my friends have them, and have no problem. I agree with the rest of your statement, save one. You can fit 3-4 kids a corvette if you don't get pulled over. Just be creative, like me hauling moose out one a 400 EX

 

I was comparing SUV's to sports cars NOT sports cars to cars. I know that when it starts snowing and the conditions get bad a 4x4 is going to be better off then a 2 wheeler.

I am one the Raptor owners who is not going to widen there front end. One of the reasons I liked the Raptor was it was the same width as my former 300EX. A lot of the trails are former dirtbike trails and width matters here. Chet

 

for the trails around me a ds650 is way to wide. thats also the same reason i'm not planning on widening my 400EX. but hey if you got trails around you that the ds will work on i say go out and have fun.

Nice pictures. I would say the 650 would be perfect for those conditions. Just make sure you are in gear and emergency brake on when you stop. I would hate to see that 650 upside down and smashed into one of those rocks. Chet

The trails here in Texas, or at least where I ride in Texas have pretty much no big hills but have alot of tree's and jumps. Also alot of streems, mud, and creek beds... but with creek/river beds comes tall banks... sometimes 20' to 30' in some areas. There really no beaches in Galveston that let ATV's on the dunes.
Our trails were I ride are tight but not so tight that reverse would be a necessity. I can actually ride about 100 miles of trails without actually crossing over the same trail twice. But anyways, I just want something comfortable, reliable, and with good suspension. I dont race, but I do hunt. Its going to be nice to go hunting with two quads instead of only one. Having an extra rider on the back is so uncomfortable.
By the way, Ive never had a chain driven machine. How is the up-keep on the chain and proper adjustments? Anyways, thanks for your thoughts.
