I don't have any one of those three pipes, but they are all good pipes for the 400ex. The E-series is a very popular pipe that a lot of people put on the EX. The R-series I don't think is as popular as the E-series, but I know that it got good reviews from Dirt Wheels Magazine. As for the DMC, I have heard one of those personally. It sounds awesome!!!! It has a distinct sound to it so that you can literally pick it out of a crowd. It sounds like similar to a YZ426 in my opinion, which is LOUD and FAST. I have also personally heard a WB E-series and they sound good as well. I have never heard a R-series though.

As for me, I have a FMF Powercore 4 S/A. I am very pleased with the increase in both HP and torgue. I don't really know what exact HP I am running right now, but I acceleration is much better over stock and other pipes. As for the sound, I don't know how many decibels it puts out, but I would guess around 96-98. Stock is around 89-90 I think. So there was a significant sound increase, but it is not obnoxiously disturbing. However it will shake the windows in the house when you come flying by. Everyone knows that you are coming and can hear you loud and clear. I am not trying to brag, but I have drag raced many other 400ex's in the dunes with other pipes and stock Banshees and have taken a majority of them. Raptors however, are still a little faster then me but I can run side by side with them up until forth gear. Then they start to pull away from me. The only other engine mod that I have done to my 400ex is a Kand N powerkit. I installed the K and N filter along with the dynojet kit. In the dunes I run a set of sand devils (paddles) which really help out a lot. However several other 400ex's that I have beaten also have paddles. I know that a lot of it also has to do with the rider as well, but seriously I am stating facts. I seriously am not trying to brag, I am just giving you info like you asked for.

Anyway, like I said earlier, all three of those pipes are good ones. I initially was planning on getting a WB E-series, but some how I chose to go with the FMF. I don't really know why, but I did get a good price on it. I just got the slip on kit. It ran around $230 I believe. That's about what you are going to pay for a desent pipe. I hope that I answered some of your questions. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions. Thanks.

Here is the results from the pipe shootout in dirtwheels. All of these pipes were tested on a 400ex.
WHITE BROTHER E-SERIES PEAK HP-27.9 SOUND LEVEL 95DB
WHITE BROTHER R- SERIES HP-27.1 SOUND 97DB
BIG GUN STANDARD HP-27.2 SOUND 98DB
FMF POWER CORE HP-26.7 SOUND 100DB
CT RACING(12 DISC) HP-27.9 SOUND 102DB (VERY LOUD)
Here are some of the results overall the winner based on HP, SOUND and overall performance was White Brothers e- series. Very important note all pipes were used on the stock head pipe the 400ex has a good head pipe it is not necassary to change it. Now look at price it ranges from $259 to $300 for the ct racing pipe. You can get and e-series for $215.00 at www.gopartsdirect.com. I had and fmf pro core on my 300ex it was good but very loud my neighbors weren't to happy. The e-series is a little quiter. The stock Honda pipe sound level is 88db.I hope I helped. Good Luck

I have a R-series on my 99 and a DMC on my 00. They both work great the r series is a bit quieter then the DMC though.
