i am curious about the top speed of a 250ex and how bad would a 300ex beat me if the 250ex had a yoshimura comp series pipe, K&N filter, and K&N jet kit.

 

The 300ex will kick it's **** badly. BTW why do you care if your dead ?

 

i put the dead part there for the heck of it but i came pretty close to being dead on my friends recon sat. morning.

I tell my 9 yr. old son with an LT 80... "It does matter who has the fastest quad or a better quad, as long as you are having fun." But since you are not my son and I dont need to educate you, I will put it blunt. Yes, a 300 EX as well as many other quads will eat you up. Sorry.

 

yeah i agree. i would be quite satisfied with the 250ex if it didnt beat the 300ex. i just wanted to know how close i would be. anybody know how fast a stock 250ex goes? well i almost went in the hospital on my friends recon because i spent the night at his house and the night before we were chasing rabbits on his recon. we saw 9 of the little guys. we went to bed and woke up in the morning and his dad was going to do some farm work down the road at his cousins house. his cousin is only 10 but he has a 97 300ex and we wanted to see him. his other cousin has a 99 400ex but he rarely rides it and he wasnt home. we got there and unloaded the recon off the back of the truck and we asked if his cousin named brad was up with the 300ex. his dad said he was still sleeping so me and my friend drove by real fast and loud and woke him up. he came out on the 300ex and we went trail riding needless to say he killed us. recon vs. 300ex aint much of a match. we crossed the road and crossed a bridge and went to another trail. we drove through there and was killed again. we was going back across the bridge and i was on the back of the recon with my friend and we was doing 20-25mph. from the side we was driving the bridge looks a lot wider then what it really was. my friend tried to miss a deep puddle and all i heard was OH $**t! i looked ahead and we were way off the bridge. my friend tried to swerve and slammed on the brakes but we slammed into the concrete curb on the side of the bridge and bent the skid plate all the way in. later on afterwards we looked at the recon and we saw that we actually grinded the curb on the bridge. anyways we were doing about 5mph while 2 wheels were off the bridge and it just tipped over and we fell about 10-15ft in a crick upside down. the recon landed on both of us. the crick was about 4 ft deep and believe me it was freezing cold. i got hurt worse because i landed on some rocks. i had a rock jab me in the leg and the helmet i was wearing hit a rock and gave me a concussion. i really didnt feel that much because it was freezing. i hurried up and got out of the crick and my friend flipped the recon over. his recon can float so we tried pushing it up the side of the bank. we figured there was no way that the engine was going to start. the engine was flooded and the air filter box was filled with water. we kept on trying to push it out of the crick but we couldnt and we was just amazed that the engine started. we couldnt believe it. we finally was able to drive it out of the crick without his parents finding out we crashed but i was literally freezing. i was completely soaked in the crick and it was really cold. i will tell you one thing all i had on was a t shirt and windpants so i was freezing. that recon was one tough atv though. amazingly nothing was broke except for a bent in skid plate and that engine started up even though it was flooded had the exhaust covered had the air filter box covered and had water in the oil. we went home and brad told us that the crick we fell in was human crap. i knew it was crap but i didnt know it was human. it made me sick. it was our lucky day though. right when me and my friend got to his house him and his cousin were doin wheelies and everything else. if we was going a litlle faster we probably would have died because the four wheeler would have landed straight upside down with both of us on it. amazingly the cr4ash actually made want to get a 250ex even more. weird ey.

 

Well I will have to disagree about the Recon VS 300ex through the woods thing.

And that was a pretty gross story !! HUMAN CRAP ?!!!!!!! GROSS !

 

you think the story was gross. i sunk close to 3 ft in that stuff. it was sick. i had such a hard time getting it out. at the time i really didnt have time to think about it. you disagree with what part of the 300ex vs recon. i did forget to mention that my friends cousins 300ex was bored out a little. he doesnt know how much though. he gave my friend a 40ft advantage and still beat him pretty quick. funny a 10 year old kid driving awesomely on a bored out 300ex and i am 15 and dont even have a quad yet. oh well. hopefully i can see if i can get a 250ex soon.

 

I had a 99' Recon and my friend had a 01' 300ex and i use to be a ble to kill him threw the woods. BUT its all rider

 

oh ok. i see what you mean. thats one reason i want a 250ex. i wont have to worry about a clutch. i was on the back of his cousins 300ex and i almost flew off the back because he kept on tail whipping the thing. lol
